As you might have gathered from previous posts, I am incredibly grateful to the amazing Melissa Dietstein (van Zyl) for agreeing to give me my first position “Job shadowing”/”Interning” after my photographic studies. She was brave enough to give an inexperienced student a phenomenal opportunity and I will forever be indebted to her for that. I got so much more than just an experience and photographic exposure (no pun intended). Melissa is one of the most amazing, positive, kind-hearted, strong, loving, caring, fun, creative and talented people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting; she has been a mentor, friend and role model in life. Most of the weddings you will see on this site were captured as her assistant/2nd shooter, the 5 below being the first of many.
